Here's a description from the website: mn original cameras have been capturing the creative process in arts studios for months, and will take viewers behind the scenes to meet the elders and the emerging talents in all of the arts disciplines – musicians, visual artists, poets, writers, dancers, filmmakers, architects and designers - all of whom make up the vast array of creative talent living and working in Minnesota. We're honored to have our music included in this program's music library, which includes many incredible local artists. Music from our Bohemian Flats recording is featured throughout this piece on artist Gwen Hauser. The tune Stones from our Bohemian Flats recording accompanies a portion of this piece on wood turning artist Virgil Leih. The tune This and That from our Bohemian Flats recording accompanies a portion of this piece on lighting designer Barry Browning. * MN Original - Barry Browning * ~~~ treVeld has a Minnesota Public Radio MinneWiki page ~~~ Live Performance / Interview with Liz Olds on Century Song - KFAI Radio 90.3 & 106.7 FM, recorded 12/5/2010 We had a great time doing this show! The first premier was held at the Water Street Inn in downtown Stillwater in August of 2010 and the following one was held soon afterwards at the beautiful Stillwater public library. Both turned out to be standing room only events! About the Film This documentary is a unique film that was created for the Washington County Historical Society (WCHS) of Stillwater MN. It represents the honoring of an unfinished 8 and 16mm film project that was started by the legendary photographer John Runk, commissioned by Brent Peterson of the WCHS to be completed by filmmaker Paul Creager, guided by the spirit of Runk's previous works. The film first introduces John Runk, followed by the presentation of artfully sequenced 8 and 16mm film segments that Runk shot while documenting Stillwater MN, exploring everyday life from the 1940's through the 1960's. The DVD's main feature is 30 minutes, with an additional 80 minutes of Runk film footage. Your weekly respite from the frenetic pace of our world. ~~~ Thank you MPR and The Morning Show on 89.3 The Current for playing our music and mentioning our performances at Erte Restaurant. Thanks to Dale Connelly for the telling of the fun story on the 7/31 show. The Morning Show changes form ... The Morning Show's finale broadcast was on December 11, 2008, live from the Fitzgerald Theater in Saint Paul MN. This represented the end of an over 25 year run on MPR, which started out with Garrison Keillor hosting the original show, whom among other things, was inspired to poke fun at the station's classical music playlist. The Morning Show has now morphed into The Dale Connelly Show, which can be heard via the internet and HD radio on Radio Heartland. Jim Ed Poole (Tom Keith) has retired and Dale Connelly is now the solo host. Dale's show runs from 6 to 9am, Monday through Friday, with 2 hours repeated from 11am to 1pm. Radio Heartland is broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Morning Show is no more ... It was a sad moment when MPR decided it was time to pull the plug on Dale's show on Radio Heartland. The show had a very long and wonderful run, yet it's time has come and gone. We are deeply indebted to Dale and Mike for playing our music and helping us to grow our audience. Dale and the Morning Show will be deeply missed by many. Many thanks for providing such a great service to the community. Here's to Dale's bright and successful future, which will be interesting to follow. Here are some of the Morning Show playlists in which treVeld is fortunate to have appeared. * Click here for Morning Show playlists *Thanks to Mike Pengra, who co-produces Radio Heartland with Dale Connelly, for getting our music on the air / wire. Mike brought treVeld's Bohemian Flats CD into the Morning Show mix shortly after catching a performance of ours at Erte Restaurant. He liked what he heard at Erte, which was augmented by his receiving our CD just a few days afterwards. The timing of our connection felt like a meaningful coincidence (synchronicity), in that we didn't know Mike had heard us at Erte when we sent him the CD. Radio Heartland's music programming is aided by the all knowing and somewhat mystical computer named Jasper, formerly known as HAL. It turns out that Jasper is acquiring a taste for treVeld's music and has been playing our tunes several times a day as of late. Billy is graciously writing about and calling attention to many artists via his Billy's Bunker website. Do stop by and check out his many fine reviews. ~~~ treVeldian nourishment Many thanks to Erte' restaurant for regularly hosting treVeld. We have met many wonderful people while performing there, many of whom have become fans and often invite us to play for various gatherings such as weddings and celebrations of all kinds. Speaking of weddings, here's a quote from avery dear friend and fan of treVeld: I just wanted to pass you a note~ We so, so enjoyed hearing treVeld on Saturday (at Erte'). The three of you are nothing short of absolutely amazing. I have had some conversations in the past about equating music with food, and how some music is fluff and no substance, or dessert, or canned meat, etc. ~ treVeld is a 27 course meal with all the trimmings, very tasty rare wine with amazing appetizers, every one of my favorite dishes, many incredibly delicious morsels I have never tasted that are somehow exotic and familiar at the same time. Talk about sweet sustenance! We are SO HONORED that you are playing for our gathering. Peter Thank you Peter, the honor is MUTUAL..! ~~~ Future treVeld is working towards the recording of a second CD, which we may bring to fruition in sections, which are released digitally and distributed to various radio stations for airplay before the full length CD is produced. Tune inspirations continue to flow and we're grateful for the encouragement we're receiving to record these new works. We welcome your correspondence...!
Stay tuned...! |
